Inactive signaling SIMs

The Inactive signaling SIMs report is a dashboard that highlights SIM cards generating network signaling despite being non-functional. Use this report to identify SIMs that may require reconnection, reactivation, or removal from your systems.

The summary charts provide a high-level overview, while the Inactive signaling SIM List table lets you take targeted action on individual SIMs.

Data is refreshed on a monthly basis within the first week of the month.

Questions this report answers

  • Which SIMs are generating signaling traffic while in a non-functional state (for example, SIM Suspended or SIM Issued)?
  • How many inactive signaling SIMs do I have each month, and how is that trending?
  • How many Message Signaling Units (MSUs) are these inactive SIMs generating per month?
  • Which specific SIMs, endpoints, and devices (IMEI) are driving the signaling?
  • Which inactive signaling SIMs should I reconnect, reactivate, or remove?

Inactive signaling SIM list

Table listing every SIM that was inactive but generated signaling during the last available month.

ColumnDescription
observation_monthMonth the signaling was observed (in YYYY-MM-01 format, for example, 2026-03-01)
issueSIM status causing the inactive signaling (for example, SIM Suspended, SIM Issued)
sim_idUnique SIM identifier
endpoint_idUnique identifier of the endpoint the SIM is assigned to
endpoint_nameName of the endpoint the SIM is assigned to
imeiInternational Mobile Equipment Identity of the device last seen using the SIM
imsiInternational Mobile Subscriber Identity
msisdnPhone number (MSISDN) assigned to the SIM
tagsComma-separated tags applied to the SIM or endpoint
msu_countNumber of MSUs (Message Signaling Units) generated by the SIM during the observation month

Each column can be used to sort the table. The table includes a search bar and a dropdown to show 10, 20, 50, 100, or 200 (default) entries.

Filters

FilterRequiredValueDefaultDescription
Observation MonthYesDate pickerLast 6 monthsSelect the observation month to report on. Supports comparison operators (for example, ≤ 2026-03-01) so you can include data up to and including a given month.
WorkspaceNoPredefinedNoneSearchable dropdown listing the Workspaces you have access to. Only available with multiple Workspaces.
Tag NameNoPredefinedNoneFilter by SIM or endpoint tag name.
Tag Filter CriteriaYesPredefinedExact Combination
  • Exact Combination: all selected tags must be present per SIM (for example, if you select tag1 and tag2, both must be present along with other possible tags).
  • Partial Combination: at least one selected tag must be present (for example, if you select tag1 and tag2, either or both must be present for each SIM).
ICCIDNoPredefinedNoneSearchable dropdown to filter results to one or more specific SIMs by ICCID.

Apply filters

1

Click the filter icon at the top of the report to open the Filters panel.

2

Set your desired filters. For Observation Month, click the calendar icon to choose a comparison operator and date. Use the Workspace, Tag Name, and ICCID dropdowns to narrow results. If filtering by tags, choose a Tag Filter Criteria to control how tags are matched.
