Data usage per device policy

The Data usage per device policy report is a dashboard showing data consumption grouped by service policy and coverage policy. Use this report to compare usage across different policy configurations, identify which policies drive the most data consumption, and review SIM counts per policy.

Questions this report answers

  • How much data is each service policy consuming?
  • How much data is each coverage policy consuming?
  • Which device policy has the highest data usage?
  • How many activated and factory test mode SIMs are on each policy?
  • What is the difference between paid and total (paid + factory test mode) volume per policy?

Log in to your emnify account.

Navigate to Reports.

Select Data usage per device policy from the report list.

Data Usage By Service Policy for [Current Calendar Month] [Activated SIMs]

The service policy tables are based on current policy assignments only. The date filter does not affect these tables.

Data Usage By Coverage Policy [All SIMs]

When both tariff_profile_name and data_allowance_name show N/A (tariff or endpoint unassigned), the data is coming from SIMs with no attached endpoints.

All tables include a search bar, a Summary row with totals, and a dropdown to show All, 10, 20, 50, or 200 (default) entries. Each column can be used to sort the table.

  • Exact Combination: all selected tags must be present per endpoint (for example, if you select tag1 and tag2, both must be present along with other possible tags).
  • Partial Combination: at least one selected tag must be present (for example, if you select tag1 and tag2, either or both must be present for each endpoint).

Apply filters

Click the filter icon at the top of the report to open the Filters panel.

Set your desired filters. Select the Active Month, and optionally use the Workspace, Country, VPLMN, and Tag Name dropdowns to narrow results. If filtering by tags, choose a Tag Filter Criteria to control how tags are matched.

Click Apply Filters to update the report.

To reset all filters, click Clear all.

Download report data

Each chart and table in this report includes a menu (vertical dots icon) with download options.

Click the vertical dots icon on the chart or table you want to download.

Select Download, then choose a format:

  • Export to .CSV — download as a comma-separated values file
  • Export to Excel — download as an Excel spreadsheet
  • Download as image — save a screenshot of the chart or table

The same menu also provides Force refresh to reload the data and Enter fullscreen to expand the chart or table.
